Editorial announcement

The EURASIP Journal on Image and Video Processing was launched in early 2006 and has already published nearly 200 articles, including more than a dozen successful Special Issues. Based on our achievements over the last 4 years, JIVP has been accepted for coverage in the Science Citation Index Expanded (SCIE). As a result our journal will be attributed an Impact Factor in a future edition of the Journal Citation Report. I would like to take this opportunity to thank the authors, associate editors, guest editors and reviewers who have contributed to the success of the journal and who have helped to attract an increasing number of readers. Special thanks to the publisher HINDAWI who have brought significant new concepts in the world of publishing and who have continuously provided an outstanding environment for the journal with regular updates and innovations. Looking ahead, it is clear that we have made great strides over recent years but there is still potential for our journal to develop. We all hope that it will continue to flourish in the years to come and that we can enhance its position as a leading journal in our community.
